Growing up right here in Western Pennsylvania, I learned the values we all know: hard work, service, and love of country. And after the 9/11 attacks during my senior year of high school, those values are what led me to the Naval Academy.
I still remember walking into Memorial Hall as a Midshipman, where we honor all alumni who have died in service to our country. Right in the middle of that hall is a flag that says the words: "Don't give up the ship."
It was a powerful rallying cry then, and it still is today. Some may feel like the country is on our heels. A sense of despair and maybe even hopelessness.
I think this is the exact moment we stand our ground and say: Don't give up the ship.
That's why I'm running for reelection. Because patriotism demands courage in this moment. The courage to fight for our freedom, courage to fight the corruption and abuses of the Trump Administration, and courage to fight to restore the American Dream.

Since taking office again, Donald Trump has made it clear: he doesn't share the same values that we do in Western PA.
Trump and his administration have pitted Americans against Americans. We've seen them call their neighbors terrorists, they took a sledgehammer to the VA, and they even weaponized the Justice Department in an attempt to intimidate me and some of my colleagues for stating the law and the basic truth of the oath we took to the Constitution.
And my Republican colleagues in Congress? They cower in fear of the President, falling in line with his pathetic agenda while he undermines our democracy and tramples on our Constitution at every turn.
When my kids ask me what I did in the face of Donald Trump's attacks, I want them to know that their dad fought back.
Donald Trump is hoping that he'll scare you away from speaking your mind, from standing up, from patriotically dissenting, from making your voice heard.
I know I won't be intimidated. I'm not going to give these people an inch.
