This week, the U.S. Senate started seriously considering the SAVE Act – a blatant effort to suppress votes ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Here's what this legislation aims to do:
- American citizens would be required to present a birth certificate or passport before casting their vote. Data shows that about half of American citizens do not have a passport.
- Married women – or any person who has changed their name from what was originally on their birth certificate – would face significant barriers to accessing the ballot box.
- Local election officials, the people in your community who have always been responsible for conducting elections safely and securely, could face serious legal challenges from the Trump administration.
So let's be clear about what this legislation really is: A coordinated attempt to make it harder for everyday Americans – seniors, women, young people – to exercise their most fundamental right.
The Senate is moving fast. We need to show Congress that engaged Americans across the country are watching – and that we won't stand for it.
Please, add your name to our letter to Congress today »
Thank you for standing with us.

| To all members of Congress: Today, I am urging you to oppose the SAVE Act. This legislation would require Americans to present a passport or birth certificate to register to vote – a barrier millions of eligible citizens simply cannot clear. Nearly half of Americans don't have a passport. Birth certificates can be difficult to obtain. And anyone who has legally changed their name – including married women – could find themselves locked out of the ballot box entirely. Voter fraud is already illegal. This bill doesn't solve a real problem. It creates new ones – at the expense of seniors, working families, and everyday Americans who have every right to make their voices heard. Please, reject the SAVE Act and defend the voting rights of your constituents. X ____________________ |
