I ran on Medicare for All in 2017—a policy choice some advised me not to take at the time. I was running to flip an Orange County district that had been held by Republicans for decades, and conventional wisdom said only "moderates" could win in these purple seats.
But we proved them wrong. We flipped that seat blue, and defended it even after redistricting.
How did we do it? By talking about the real issues facing families and working people everyday in this country, due to corporate greed, political corruption, and broken systems created and maintained by the rich and powerful. Whether you're a Republican or Democrat, old or young, I've never met anyone who doesn't want a strong, stable, globally competitive economy.
California's next Senator will have the chance to guide our party's messaging and policy priorities for decades to come. I'm running because I know I can help Democrats up and down the ballot in every part of the country—from rural areas like the one I grew up in, to suburbs like the one I'm raising my family in.
I'm a proud progressive representing a purple district. I'm a lifelong consumer advocate with a history of holding big corporations accountable and getting sh*t done. I'm one of just a few single working moms in Congress. I will always put what's right for California above politics. And I'll stand by my record any day of the week.

Thank you for your support.

P.S. I've won in a purple district with a progressive agenda three terms in a row—even when super PACs spent millions of dollars attacking us. Can you pitch in a donation today to help me stand up to the super PACs and outside spending, so I can bring my experience to the U.S. Senate?
