It's the least we can do.
This week Senate Democrats advanced a bill that would impose a judicial code of ethics on Supreme Court Justices. It's appalling that nine of the most powerful Americans don't already have a code of ethics!
The proposed law would:
- Bolster financial disclosure requirements (including the reporting of gifts).
- Impose stricter guidelines for Justices recusing themselves in cases where they have a conflict of interest.
- Allow formal complaints to be made against Justices who may have broken the rules, allowing other federal judges to investigate.
This bill is just a start, but even this push for basic transparency is being opposed by Republicans. Can you add your name to show support for reforming our Supreme Court and implementing a code of ethics?

In the Senate, Katie would push to hold the Supreme Court accountable. A code of ethics is a start, but we also need to expand the court, enforce term limits, and work to get politics out of our judicial system.
Onward,
Team Porter
