The high cost of housing is one of the issues I hear most about.
I can't believe it's been a full nine months since we launched our Senate campaign. Since launching, here are few things that have stuck with me:
- The high cost of housing is one of the issues I hear most about from Californians. Many younger people worry they'll never afford to purchase a home, or that they'll have to leave our state to do so. We must use the power of the federal government to address high costs, rather than just blaming states and local governments.
- People are fed up with the status quo and where it's leading us. Whether it's union members demanding fair pay while their CEO makes millions, or students organizing to keep their schools safe from gun violence, I've been inspired by the Californians I've met who are eager to make a difference—and I'm ready to be their champion in the Senate.
- I've been so touched by all of the supporters who are putting their faith in me and our campaign. Pundits have wondered if we have what it takes to go the distance and compete against tens of millions of dollars. But this grassroots team continues to step up, and whether you give your time or a few bucks, I am so appreciative.
