Hey there, it's Paul, Katie Porter's son!
Since my mom was elected to Congress, trips to normal places take longer than usual. People stop her in grocery stores and airports, everywhere really. I'm proud of my mom, so it's fun to see what different people appreciate about her.
Some people like her for silly things like our minivan or her whiteboard. But most people who come up to my mom talk to her about Congressional Hearings where she absolutely wrecks corporate CEOs, or when she breaks down complex legislative ideas so average Joes like you and me can understand them. Sometimes people come up to her and tell her their problems. But no matter what the issue is, she's always able to give them an idea for how they might be able to solve it.
Here's my siblings and me in the campaign office when my mom first ran for Congress in 2018.
Right now, my mom is extra busy, because in addition to being a Congresswoman and mom, she's running to be the next U.S. Senator from California. But she always says this is a team effort. For me and my siblings that means helping out with dishes and laundry while she's away, and my brother and I have become pro door knockers thanks to each of my mom's past campaigns. Now, we need you on our team too! I know it sounds cheesy, but one of the best ways you can help my mom and our campaign right now is to donate $3 or $5 or whatever you can.
