Every time I travel from California to DC there's a real cost for my family. I leave behind my three school age kids.
I tell you this because it 100% informs my work in Congress. I don't go to Washington to curry favor with those in charge, schmooze at cocktail parties, or be wined and dined by lobbyists. I go because I'm fighting to unrig the rules on behalf of families like yours and mine. Some weeks, that feels like a fool's errand. But much of the time, I know we're really making a difference.

It's at those cocktail receptions and lobbyist retreats that big checks get doled out to politicians. But because I don't take a dime from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists (and I'm the only person in this race who can say that) I really rely on supporters like you. I'm so proud to "do Congress" differently than most, and it's all possible because of grassroots support.
