If you know anything about me and my story, you’ll know that my mom is one of the main reasons I am where I am today. She worked two jobs for most of my childhood on nights and weekends, and she still somehow managed to pick me up, make sure I did my homework, and keep our family going. My mom cared deeply about what was happening in our community and in our country. But campaign events weren’t designed for her schedule. They happened at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday, at a church fellowship hall across town. She couldn’t make it. Not because she didn’t care. Because she was working. Thanks for reading! They’re taking care of their kids or their parents or both. They’re trying to get through the week. But these folks, too, deserve to know where their representatives stand on the issues, not just if they can carve out two hours on a Tuesday night but whenever they have a moment. Meeting People Where They Are I’ve said throughout this campaign that my job isn’t to wait for voters to find me. It’s to meet people where they are. That’s why I’ve been at diners and union halls, community centers, and on front porches. It’s a simple idea, but it shapes everything we do. The reality is that most people never get to meet their congressional candidate face-to-face. They see a mailer, catch an ad, scroll past a post. But they rarely get their actual questions answered. The specific ones that matter to them personally, the ones that inform how they ultimately decide to vote. That’s the gap Marley is designed to fill. A first-time voter with five minutes to spare can get a clear, honest answer about where I stand. A working parent who missed the town hall can still find out what I’m fighting for. Someone who speaks Spanish or Vietnamese or any other language can get the same information as everyone else. My mom never got that. A lot of voters like her still don’t. I want to change that.
