Instead of defending American citizens, our ambassador to Israel is echoing the lies of violent extremists.

Jason,   Last week, while visiting a Palestinian school in the West Bank that had been destroyed by extremists, my team and I were surrounded by armed settlers carrying American-made M4 rifles. They blocked our vehicles, mocked us, and held us against our will for over an hour. When the Israeli military finally arrived, they didn't intervene to protect us—they stood with the settlers.   I was eventually allowed to leave because of the privilege of my American passport and my position in Congress. But if the IDF and extremist groups like the Hilltop Youth can do this to us, imagine the millions of Palestinians enduring the same intimidation I faced every single day with no cameras, no headlines, and no one to speak up for them.   Rather than defending a member of Congress and decrying the actions of the settlers and the IDF, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee is calling the entire incident "staged" and a "stunt."   TAKE ACTION: Israel must prosecute IDF soldiers and designate Hilltop Youth as a terrorist group. I went to the West Bank to get an uncurated, Palestinian-led look at the reality of the occupation. I saw the apartheid-like conditions and the cruelty of the settlement system firsthand.   I will not be silenced by political attacks or attempts to discredit what I witnessed. We must demand consequences for violent extremism and continued settlement expansion: Designate the Hilltop Youth as a terrorist group. Prosecute violent settlers like Yinon Levy.
