The mission of this organization has never been more relevant.

Jason,
This week, Mitch McConnell reported that he’s still not cleared to return to work in the Senate. He’s been out since June 14 and has missed at least 38 votes.
Meanwhile, American employers are still not required to provide paid leave for workers. But apparently the same doesn’t apply for our members of Congress.
Let me be clear: We aren’t in the business of attacking people for their age or having health issues. But when we are talking about the leaders of our country, we deserve to know they can do the job we’ve elected them to do, not disappear for weeks or months at a time without even letting the public know what’s going on.
We need leaders who are showing up every day to fight for us. But too many of our politicians have been in office for decades now. Too many of them are completely beholden to special interests and the status quo. And sadly, a significant number of them are at an age where they risk dying in office.
And we know that it’s not just young people who feel this way! Both young and older people are ready to let a new generation lead. To those of you who are of an older generation but support us, I just want to say thank you! Our work would not be possible without this intergenerational coalition of supporters.
And moments like these clearly illustrate how important our mission is. Leaders We Deserve exists to elect the next generation of leaders to drive progress on the most important issues of our time — the affordability crisis, economic inequality, universal health care, worker protections, climate change, and so much more. We exist to elect leaders who can and will actually show up to represent us.
If you’re with us, will you pitch in $5 toward our $100,000 end-of-month fundraising goal? Goals like these are how we power this game-changing work.
