A short while later, my parents began working with the United Farm Workers of America — fighting for workers’ rights, fair pay, and shade and water breaks alongside Dolores Huerta and Philip Vera Cruz.
I would never have guessed as a young kid that I would grow up to serve as the Attorney General of California — but as long as I can remember, I’ve known that I wanted to fight for those most vulnerable to have a fair shot at the California Dream.
That’s why I do this work. I know, without a doubt, that the California Dream is alive and well because I’m living mine — and I’m committed to using every bit of platform and power I have to lift people up and fight for justice for all.
I’m on the ballot for re-election this November, and I want nothing more than to continue this fight.
California needs an Attorney General who will stand up to those who abuse their power — whether it’s corrupt politicians, corporate polluters, extremist groups trying to roll back our rights, or powerful interests that exploit workers, cheat consumers, and put profits ahead of people.
