But first, I want to talk to you about the opportunity sitting right in front of us this November — and it’s bigger than we may realize.
Earlier this year, Washington Post ran a piece about young people who voted for Trump in 2024.
What they found was a growing sense from these voters that they had been misled and left behind. Polls are saying that 70% of Americans aged 18 to 29 disapprove of Trump’s presidency.
The message is clear: they’re having buyer's remorse.
The young voters who helped catapult Trump back to the White House are furious about him waging an endless war in Iran, furious about the devastatingly high prices that never came down, and furious that they were so brazenly lied to.
But here’s the thing. These young voters who feel betrayed by the vision they were sold don’t automatically start showing up for us. They need a reason. They need bold, fearless candidates who can actually relate to what they’re going through. The cost of rent, access to health care, crushing student debt. They need a vision for the future worth fighting for — and more importantly, one they can trust.
That’s the work. And with 50 days left until the midterms, the window to do it is right now.
It’s exactly what Leaders We Deserve was built to do. We’re backing and electing candidates in red-to-blue races across the country who are fiercely committed to fighting for the communities they come from, and refuse to take corporate cash or special interest money. These leaders are proving that working class politics can win anywhere.
But those victories cost money.
