Wow, Jason ... I'm still in shock. Donald Trump has just fired Pam Bondi as Attorney General. I've been calling for her to be removed from office for weeks. Between her handling of the Epstein investigation and her allegiance to Donald Trump over the rule of law, it was clear she wasn't doing her job. The Attorney General of the United States is supposed to be independent and work for the people, not the President. Yet, the questions remain: Why are they still hiding millions of documents from the American public? Why have they not indicted Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirators? What exactly are they trying to hide? Here's what happens next: Donald Trump will nominate a new Attorney General. Reports suggest it will be Lee Zeldin, who is already carrying the baggage of his own corruption scandals from his time at the EPA. While Republicans hold the Senate majority, he must face grueling questions during his confirmation hearings about the Epstein investigation and whether he will be loyal to the people or to Donald Trump personally. I'm not convinced a "new face" at the Department of Justice will change the fact that they are going to do Donald Trump's personal bidding. That should terrify anyone who values our system of checks and balances. The rule of law must apply to everyone — including the most rich and powerful among us.
