I just filed my 80th lawsuit against Trump in fewer than 80 weeks since he took office again.
That’s how brazenly and frequently Trump is breaking the law and violating the Constitution.
This latest lawsuit challenges a rule put in place by the Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that would push more people onto plans called “catastrophic health insurance plans.” These plans:
→ Offer only limited coverage
→ Aren’t eligible for tax credit
→ And have significantly higher out-of-pocket costs than standard Affordable Care Act plans.
This rule completely (and unlawfully!) undermines the entire point of the ACA: to expand access to affordable healthcare.
Instead, it would increase costs, decrease enrollment, and move the financial burden away from insurance companies and onto consumers and healthcare providers.
And the Trump administration knows exactly how devastating the impacts of this new rule would be: HHS itself admits it will cause two million people to lose coverage in 2027 alone, and a total of five million by 2030.
We’ve sued the Trump administration for illegally undermining the protections of the ACA before, and I can promise you, I will keep taking this administration to court whenever it strips away critical protections that Americans and Californians rely on.
If you’re with me and you want Trump and his lawless administration to stop making healthcare more expensive and harder to get, will you support my re-election campaign so we can keep this work going?
