I'm here to help!
It's goal setting season, and if you're looking to be a more engaged citizen in this important election year, I'm here to help!
- Attend a city council meeting or elected official's town hall. You might be surprised by what you learn!
- Stay up to date on the news, or take a deep dive into a new topic. I recommend checking a reliable news source before you check your social media feed. And a shameless plug—follow me on Substack! The newsletters will come straight to your inbox, and there's no charge for this subscription. While I'm going to have to send a lot of fundraising emails here over the next two months, Substack is where I write more in depth about topics like housing affordability and airline policy.
- Volunteer with a campaign. If you're in a swing state, you'll find lots of opportunities to door knock through both the Biden campaign or your state party, or through down ballot Democrats. If you're in a deep-blue area, consider phone banking or texting for a campaign that inspires you. Future volunteer opportunities for our campaign will be listed here.
- Donate to candidates who you believe in. Yes, another plug for my campaign here–but candidates (like me) who have never taken corporate PAC money *really* count on the support of grassroots donors. You can click here if you'd like to donate today.
2024 is a critical year. And no matter where you live, there's a way to get involved.
Onward!
Katie Porter
