I was proud to stand with United Nurses Associations of California and Union of Health Care Professionals workers on the picket line.
Nursing is a calling, but it shouldn't be a sacrifice of one's own future. Our nurses work long hours to save lives and keep patients healthy—they deserve a fair contract that reflects their work.
To keep more nurses in this state, the solution is simple: Pay them what they deserve and protect the pensions that allow them to retire with dignity after a career of keeping us healthy.
As our next governor, I'll keep standing with workers fighting for what they deserve. But not every candidate in this race can say that. Californians can't afford leadership that sides with corporate interests over working people.
