When we first started Leaders We Deserve, a lot of people were skeptical.
They thought the Democratic Party wasn't ready for that kind of change. That young progressives couldn't actually win. Their agendas were too radical, and the candidates were unelectable.
They've never been more wrong.
Just in the past 6 months, we've backed Zohran Mamdani's historic victory in New York City, helped elect Akbar Ali, Georgia's youngest state representative, and endorsed a slate of bold progressive fighters across the country who are reshaping the Party from the ground up.
In the first quarter of 2026 alone, we've shown the power of what this movement can do.
Christian Menefee won a congressional seat in Texas. Demi Palecek beat back hundreds of thousands in corporate dark money to win her Illinois primary. Nabeela Syed advanced to the general for an Illinois State Senate seat. And Julio Salinas moved to a runoff in Texas, still fighting to flip a competitive district in the Rio Grande Valley.
That's just three months in.
And we're not done yet. We have Justin J. Pearson in Tennessee, Donavan McKinney in Michigan, Patrick Roath in Massachusetts, Claire Valdez in New York, and Nate Blouin in Utah. These are leaders who are shaking the table, challenging power, and giving the establishment a run for their money — and that's exactly why they'll win.
These candidates and the grassroots energy behind them will define what kind of Democratic Party we take into November and beyond — and how we flip the House, win back state legislatures, and build real power for working people.
And there are more primaries and endorsements on the way.
Our end-of-quarter deadline is tonight at midnight, and we're still $22,983 away from reaching our $100,000 goal. We need to make sure our slate of candidates have the resources they need to win, and our movement has the momentum to carry us through November.
