Hey Jason, I just watched the news about Kristi Noem testifying before the Senate, and I am fuming. Despite the chaos unfolding under her watch, she refuses to take accountability. DHS has been partially shut down for weeks because Kristi Noem refuses to implement commonsense safety measures like universal body cameras, clear use-of-force guidelines, and ending the mask policy for ICE agents. Kristi Noem's tenure has been a complete disaster. She has spearheaded Trump's mass deportation agenda that has terrorized immigrant families and resulted in the tragic deaths of Americans, Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Then there is the corruption and complete waste of taxpayer money: spending $70 million on a luxury jet equipped with a private bedroom and bar, funneling $220 million into a self-promotional TV campaign featuring herself and awarding the contract to a firm that she has close personal ties with — a blatant conflict of interest! During the hearing, Kristi Noem offered no real answers. When confronted about a U.S. citizen shot five times by Border Patrol, she said she would "look into it." She refused to rule out deploying ICE agents to polling locations this November. And she even tried to defend ICE agents entering American homes without a valid search warrant (hello, what about the 4th Amendment?!). I have been calling on Kristi Noem to resign for weeks, but yesterday's testimony proved she will never take accountability on her own.
