Yesterday, we had our Democratic primary here in Texas. And while we saw impressive voter turnout, neither my opponent nor I reached the needed 50% threshold. Look, this wasn’t the outcome of the primary I had hoped for. But my commitment remains unchanged – I will never stop fighting for the North Texas communities that raised me and shaped who I am today. This district is my home. It’s where I was born and raised. It’s where I’m bringing up my children with my wife, Aly. And I’m ready to fight like hell to make sure the people who live here are taken care of. This isn’t going to deter me from my fight for Texans. We still have an amazing opportunity to send someone to Congress who’ll fight for this district and give us the best chance possible to flip the House blue this November. But here’s the thing – runoffs like these are expensive. To reach every Texas Democrat in the district, we have to keep our message on North Texas airwaves through the runoff, build and execute an aggressive, district-wide Get Out the Vote campaign, and make sure voters know I’m the fighter our communities can count on. I am so grateful for you and this team standing by me throughout this campaign. Because of you and the thousands of others who chose to be a part of this movement for a better Texas, we have an incredibly strong foundation and all the energy behind us that we need to win this runoff and win in November. But we’ve already seen just how close this race is – and the stakes couldn’t be higher. With momentum building and the race tightening, this is the moment that matters most. Now is the time to step up and fight to send the leader North Texas deserves to Congress. Thank you for sticking by me. Colin Allred Paid for by Allred for Texas |
