This is exactly what I mean.
Jason, when I tell you that a race is close, I really mean it.
In December, we helped make Akbar Ali the youngest Georgia legislator in state history, and he's already making waves in Atlanta. And get this: He won by 153 votes.
We also helped elect Molly Cook, one of the youngest state senators in Texas history. We went HARD for her campaign — and in the end she won by 62 votes.
Even when the races don't go in our favor, we can be proud of the close margins. Earlier this month in North Carolina, Nida Allam came within 1% of defeating an entrenched incumbent backed with millions of dollars from special interests.
The races we're competing in aren't easy layups, Jason. Nothing about what we're trying to accomplish is easy. We are trying to rebuild the Democratic Party — and the establishment doesn't like that very much.
They spend millions to defeat our young progressive candidates. They attack these young people and claim they aren't ready to lead. But with support from Leaders We Deserve, these young candidates have the power to fight back.
