How I got here and who I am: the Democratic nominee for Governor of New Mexico.

It’s Deb Haaland.
I’m a daughter of Pueblo women, a New Mexican, a single mother, a former small business owner, a former Congresswoman, and the first Native American Cabinet Secretary in U.S. history. Now, I’m the official Democratic nominee for Governor of New Mexico.
Will you split a donation of $5 between Heartland Patriots and my campaign to help us reach our first $50,000 fundraising goal of the general election, keep our momentum going, and win this race in November so I can deliver for working families across New Mexico?

I come from generations of Pueblo women who taught me resilience, service, and how to keep going no matter what. My mother served in the U.S. Navy, raised four kids as a military wife, and spent decades in Indian education. My parents didn’t have much, but they believed deeply in giving back and showing up for others. Those are the lessons that shaped my entire life.
It’s what carried me through working in a bakery after high school, starting a small business, raising my child while relying on food stamps and WIC, and eventually stepping into public service to fight for working families.
Now I’m running for Governor because I believe every New Mexican deserves a fair shot — no matter where they come from or how much they have.
But we know what’s coming. Billionaires and national Republicans are already preparing to spend whatever it takes to flip this seat. And in New Mexico, the governor’s office has a long history of switching parties every eight years — which means this race will be decided by what we build right now, together.
So please, will you split a donation of $5 — or anything you can — between Heartland Patriots and my campaign today to keep this momentum going and make sure we’re ready for the fight ahead?
