This is the first time I'm reaching out to you because I want to talk about how we run our digital program.
Unlike some other political email programs, a real person is behind these "Team Porter" emails. My job is to bring Katie's ideas to you—whether that's sharing her plan for a certain issue, explaining our campaign's strategy, or even offering up her go-to recipes.
Before Congress, Katie was a consumer protection attorney. So when I first started this job, her guidance for these emails was clear: No "sky is falling" messaging, fake match campaigns, or spammy subject lines. It also means that we don't spam you with the same email over and over. If you don't have the means to donate to our campaigns, we understand! We're just happy to have you on our team!
We believe in treating every Porter Supporter out there with the respect they deserve, which is why we're always honest with you about our campaign, our fundraising goals, and why your support is important.
Katie and I run the email program this way not just because it's the right way to do it, but because we truly rely on our grassroots email donors, and we don't want you to ever feel like your support is going unrecognized. In fact, nearly 40% of all our donations last month came in from emails just like this one!
