"This group in Texas has a Dem share of 53.7% -- the kind of voters Beto needs to have a chance to win. The Democratic Base share of returners in Texas to-date is only 0.4 points behind the Republican Base share." Catalist Absentee & Early Vote Snapshot | October 26 |
Jason,
The data science firm Catalist shared some exciting numbers yesterday: of votes cast so far in Texas during early voting, as you can see above, it's close. Really close.
Texas isn't a "red" or a "blue" state: it's a non-voting state. And when more voters show up at the polls, Texas is competitive. We can win this race -- but only if we get every single Beto supporter out to the polls to vote.
This weekend, October 27 and 28, is the ONLY weekend Texans can vote early. Right now, thousands of volunteers are in communities across Texas knocking on doors, and helping Beto supporters make a plan to vote.
Polls have shown Beto within the margin of error -- but Catalist's analysis of the votes already cast show it even closer.
This race is going to be incredibly close -- among the closest in the country. With enough work in these final few days, we can close the narrowing gap.
Thanks,
Team Beto
