My thoughts on the State of the Union

Lies, lies, and more lies.

Jason, I sat through the longest State of the Union address in history last night, and one thing is clear: Donald Trump is completely out of touch. He claims the economy is "booming," yet he ignores the reality families face every day of insane electricity bills and housing costs. He offered no real solutions. Just self-congratulation. The volume of "alternative facts" was staggering. He lies so much that you can't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. I also noticed what wasn't in the speech. He completely ignored the Epstein scandal, even as survivors were sitting in the room demanding answers. He also failed to address ICE abuses that have terrorized our communities. He didn't even mention Alex Pretti or Renee Good. My guest for the evening was Reverend Nelson Rabell-González — a faith leader and local hero in Stockton who has been a lifeline for immigrant families during this year's unconstitutional ICE attacks. I was honored to have Father Nelson as my guest and to bring his story to Washington. Finally, I thought Governor Abigail Spanberger's rebuttal was a breath of fresh air and the hopeful vision we needed. She's such a powerhouse and is going to be an incredible leader for Virginia. She ended by asking everyone a simple question: "Is Donald Trump working for you?" We all know the answer is no.
