We've set a $100,000 email goal for two reasons. One, at the end of September we're required to publicly report how much money we've raised. Reporting a strong number can deter super PACs from spending big on attack ads against Katie and proves that we don't need corporate PAC money to run a robust campaign.
Two: We're less than six months to our primary, and in October we have to begin making important spending decisions. With 36% of voters undecided in the race, we need the resources to run ads, hire organizers, and host events throughout the state. While we so appreciate anything you may give in the weeks before Election Day, donations given now allow us to strategically plan ahead and stretch every dollar further.
