Our goal is to send you informative updates about the campaign and what's happening in Washington.
Here at Katie Porter HQ, we know we send you emails pretty regularly. But there's a good reason for it, and we try extremely hard to make sure no one on our grassroots team feels like they're being treated like an ATM.
The biggest reason we send these emails is because Katie doesn't take a dime from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists—and she's the only candidate in the race who has made that commitment. As a result, she relies on the strength of our grassroots fundraising to stay competitive. (You can pitch in here if you'd like to help!)
As a consumer protection attorney, Katie has long insisted that our email program should be one of the most ethical in politics. No fake "donor matches" that don't really exist, no made-up goals with numbers that don't correspond to reality, and no hair-on-fire appeals like, "donate now or else we will LOSE."
Our goal is to send you informative updates about the campaign and what's happening in Washington, clue you in to some of our behind-the-scenes work, and give you the opportunity to pitch in, if you're able.
It's not the easiest way to fund a campaign, but Katie is committed to doing this the right way. And so far we've been pretty successful—polls show this to be an extremely tight race.
Which leads us to the ask for this email. September 30th is our end-of-quarter reporting deadline, after which we'll have to report our fundraising progress to the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
Our numbers will be publicly reported, and everyone from journalists to our opponents will see them as a measure of our campaign's overall strength. We want to make sure folks see that our momentum is only growing—and we need your help to do it!
If you can, will you pitch in $5 or any amount before the end-of-quarter deadline? Every donation adds up and will help us show that Katie's momentum is growing fast on the next FEC report!

Thanks so much. More updates soon,
Team Katie Porter
