We're in this fight to get big money out of politics, root corruption out of Washington, and make our government work for everyone
Me and Katie Porter long before either of us imagined we would run for office.
It's Elizabeth Warren. When Katie Porter and I were studying consumer law, way before either of us got into politics, we kept coming back to one central question: Why has the road to economic security gotten so steep and so rocky for hardworking people in America?
Well, here was the answer: Washington was only working well for those with money and power — for those who could hire armies of lobbyists and lawyers. Corruption, pure and simple.
So we've been fighting back. Fighting to put our government on the side of working people. Fighting to make sure government officials are making decisions with only one factor in mind: the public interest. Not their own pocketbooks. Not their special interest donors.
That fight brought us to elected office. That fight drives us to build campaigns from the grassroots level on up. And now that Katie is running to be California's next U.S. senator (go Katie!), it's notable that she's the only candidate in the race who doesn't take money from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or executives from Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Wall Street banks.
Neither do I. We both fundraise the same way: with grassroots support. So, can you please split a $5 contribution to support our campaigns today? Katie's in a competitive primary, and we're relying on grassroots support to keep up our fight for working families in the Senate.

Katie and I have recently been working together in Washington to rein in Big Banks — introducing a bill to reinstate guardrails against collapses like the ones we saw earlier this year.
We're in this fight to get big money out of politics, root corruption out of Washington, and make our government work for everyone — not just the ultra-wealthy and well-connected. And there's so much more we can get done together.
I'm running for re-election to keep fighting for working people — and I get goosebumps thinking about what it'd be like to do this work alongside Katie in the Senate.
Can you split a donation of $5 or any amount between Katie Porter's campaign and my re-election? The polls are tight in Katie's race, so every donation, of any amount, truly makes a difference.

Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
