Yesterday at the Supreme Court

This week marks a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ equality.

Beto for America

Jason,

This week marks a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ equality.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court began hearing arguments from three cases to determine whether it's legal to fire workers for being LGBTQ.

During the Obama administration, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission took the stance that federal law protects LGBTQ Americans from workplace discrimination. And now, the Trump administration is arguing to reverse this position.

Let's make this abundantly clear: No person should be fired for who they are or who they love. Beto is proud to be fighting for LGBTQ equality and has promised to make this fight a priority in our campaign.

What makes this even worse is that this is only one example of the string of attacks this bigoted administration has launched on the LGBTQ community.

  • After 1 month in office, Trump withdrew federal guidance that protects the rights of transgender students to access bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity.
  • In April, Trump's transgender military ban officially went into effect.
  • He pushed an agenda to allow businesses to turn away LGBTQ customers under a religious exemption.
  • He sought to eliminate LGBTQ healthcare discrimination protections.

And this is just the beginning.

The bigotry and hatred we're seeing from this administration simply doesn't represent us. That's why Beto released a comprehensive plan in June that maps out a plan to achieve equality for all Americans and places it as a top priority.

Will you chip in $10 to bring Beto's plan to life and make LGBTQ equality in our lifetime a reality?

 - Team Beto
